No real plans for me.

I'm going to try to spend some quality time with Derek before hockey season starts and I never see him.

I'll maybe get a couple of drinks with my girls but low-key weekend sounds nice after a stressful first week of school.

Inspiration

Do you ever have those day when you feel really inspired?  Today is definitely one of those for me.  Maybe it is the amount of caffeine that I have consumed this morning but I think it really stemmed from class today.  We talked about Bill Bernbach and how he changed the advertising world.  For those of you who do not know who Bill Bernbach is, he the first advertiser to tell a story in his commercial.  He is famous for his Volkswagen commercial.  Talking about him today, helped me realize that thinking outside of the box and doing things your own way, can really get you to the places you want to be.

Afternoons

My schedule this term is a little weird.  I have class in the morning but then not again until late afternoon.  I end up spending a lot of time at home.  The plus side to this is I get my homework done and I get to spend time with Bailey dog.  Here are some pictures from this afternoon.

Being Interesting

Today in class, we talked about how being interesting is important.  This started me thinking about what makes me interesting.  I took a look at Russell Davies' How To Be Interesting, and I realized I have a lot more to offer than I thought.  I do 6 out of the 10 things Davies suggests.  I tend to not venture out of my comfort zone when it comes to reading, so my new goal is to start reading about new subjects.

Today is the first day of Fall term.

So far, so good.

This 8 a.m. class everyday is going to be hard 

but knowing every weekend is a 3 day weekend for me makes it worth it.

Let's just hope I make it through this week.

I'm home!

I'm excited to say I'm home! I had so much fun backpacking.  It was the first time that I had gone for more than one night and let me tell you it was HARD!  It was probably the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.  I wasn't sure I was going to make it a couple of times during the hike.  I was way more out of shape than I thought which made me the slowest in the group.  Thankfully everyone was nice to me about it and I didn't mind letting them go ahead.  On our second to last day we hiked 13 miles!  It might not seem like a lot but when you are carrying a backpacking that weighs 30 pounds and your going up and down, it feel like forever.  I'm proud to say that total we peaked four mountains and saw some pretty amazing lakes.  I'm so glad I got to go on this adventure.  I would do it again in a heartbeat but this time I would train first.

I'm leaving tomorrow to go on a five day backpacking trip.  It is a 42 mile loop at Eagle Cap.  I'm going with Derek, Adam, Lindsay, Dougo, Josh, and Steve the dog.  I'm a little scared but it should be lots and lots of fun.  I will be sure to do a post later with all our photos.  Wish me luck that I will make it back in one piece.

I have been really wanting a puppy lately, so I started doing a little research.  I have completely fallen in love with French Bulldogs.  They are so cute and really well behaved.  Who couldn't love that face?  The only problem is I have to wait until spring to get one.  I wish I could get one now but with school starting it wouldn't be a smart move.  I'll just have to look at these super cute pictures until I can have a real one.

No more vacation

I feel like I have been apologizing lately because I have been so inconstant in my blogging. I promise I will be better at blogging more often. I hadn't had a break from either school, work, or both for years. When summer school ended, I gave myself a little vacation and allowed myself to do whatever I wanted. It was going to last two weeks but it turned into almost a month so I decided it was time to get back into the swing of things.
