Taco Chilli

On Tuesday and I made a trade with Derek and his roommate, Jonah, if they let Michelle and I do laundry, we would make them dinner.
So I chose to make Taco Chilli from this recipe.
I actually the saw the chilli on pinterest and found its source so I could make it myself.
The first time I made it I didn't realize that it was a weight watchers meal but it is delicious so who cares.
It is a super easy recipe and I make it not so weight watchers by placing it on a tortilla with sour cream and cheese but that is okay with me.
Plus the boys seemed to really like it and we got our laundry done.

Snagit

I just got a free trial of Snagit. I'm not real sure how I feel about it yet but I guess that is the point of a 30 day trial. I will let you guys know my final decision. Otherwise here is my first Snagit project.

I'm so thankful that the sun has finally started to come out.
After all it is the end of June.
I don't like how cloudy and cold the mornings have been though.
This is outfit was inspired by the fact that it's cloudy in the morning and nice in the afternoon.

snack dinner

The other evening, Michelle and I had our neighbor Kelsey over for dinner.
We sat around our little table with bread, cheese, crackers, sausage, prosciutto, grapes,olives, carrots, and humus.
It was quite the feast.
Oh and we had lots of wine.
It was a fun evening that required no cooking.

These last couple of days have been so yucky.
It has been so cloudy here it doesn't even feel like Summer.
I was happy to see the sun come out for a little bit yesterday but it would be nice if it actually felt like Summer for more than six hours.
I decided that these pictures would have to do until the sun comes out for a while.

Vintage Patterns

I found these vintage children patterns and I think they are absolutely adorable.
I think it would be so much fun to frame them and put them in a baby's room.
Or even a bathroom would really cute.
I just think they are fun.

Have A Fun Weekend

My term is finally over!
I start again Monday but that can wait until then.
It was so nice to sleep in this morning and not wake up to an alarm.
I got the treat of waking up at my parent's house, getting a cup of coffee and a cookie my dad made.
They are so good and so simple.
I will have to do a most on them later.
Then I went outside to pick blueberries.

Aren't they beautiful?
I wish I didn't live in an apartment so I could grow blueberries.
They are just so much better when they are fresh.
I'm thinking that I will have to go berry picking later this summer so I can make jam.
I've never canned before but there has to be a first time for everything right?
Well I hope that everyone has a great weekend with lots of fun.
Derek and Bailey are joining me here in Salem later today.
We plan on spending time at the Art Fair and then we have a BBQ on Saturday.
And hopefully I can talk my parent's into seeing Harry Potter on Sunday.
I hope everyone else enjoys their weekends.

Hair Resort is perfect for beach hair. Summer time is great for careless fun hair and this can achieve this.

Rain Rain

There is something I love about Summer rain.
That is if it only last a day.
But I love the way it smells, how the air cools down, it sounds and how it forces you to cuddle up.
There is just something romantic about it raining in the summer.
I woke up this morning with my window open and I could hear the light rain outside.
It was so peaceful.

It is the end of my first Summer term.
I can't believe that it is already week 4.
This means I'm going to be like the girl above, only I won't be done until the end of the week.
Then I will have a nice relaxing weekend at my parents house before it's back to another term of Summer school.
Oh joy.
Wish me luck because this week is going to be CRAZY!

Moving Day

Well today is the big day.
That is for Derek I mean.
Since last year he helped me, I'm giving a helping hand.
Derek and his roommate Jonah are moving into a cute two bedroom house in the quiet neighborhood behind campus.
I love their new place and I'm so excited for them.
Congratulations boys on your new place!

Organization

My room lately seems to be out of control.
I feel like I clean it everyday and it still seems to get messy.
I need to find a more permanent solution.
So I have decided that I need to get more organized.
That way everything has a place and I won't have an excuse for the mess.
I'm not hundred percent sure how I'm going to tackle this mess but here are some really good ideas that I loved.

Blues Festival

I used Derek's camera this weekend at the Blues Festival and was finally able to download some of the pictures.
I loved going to the Blues Festival, all the people, food, and good music.
It was lots of fun and we got a really good spot both times we went.

Sometimes you forgot the simpler things in life bring you so much more joy.
Yesterday I watched a little girl dance at the Blues Festival with her dad and she was so happy.
Just watching her have such a good time put a smile on my face.
Sometimes life just seems to be flying by and I forget to actually enjoy the little things.
This past four day weekend was one of the best weekends that I have had in a super long time.
It was so relaxing and I got to spend a lot of it outside which always makes things a thousand times better.
I couldn't ask for a better time.
I hope everyone else had a great 4th of July weekend.

Hiking

I'm sorry I have been so bad at not posting lately.
I can't really complain about being busy because it has been all fun and games.
I had mentioned before that Derek and I went hiking last Sunday at Brice Creek so here are some pictures. We also went hiking this past Friday at Eagle Creek with Bailey so ill add a couple of those pictures too.
